Bank of America and the Chicago Marathon 2016 teamed up looking for an engaging experience for spectators and participants to take part in the awareness of the marathon. We were asked to come up with a way for participants to be a part of the marathon process. We decided to take away the pressures of producing the race bibs for every participant from The Chicago Marathon. They had done enough already!
We allowed users to create custom race bibs with an interactive spray can and stencils that highlighted Chicago and the marathon. After, their images were shared on large video screens to create a giant photo mosaic sponsoring the marathon. Lastly, their images that they spray painted were printed as race bibs to be worn during the race so runners can show their pride and artistic ability to the crowd.
